Claudia is the reason Select Health Group was established, her motivation was based on the fact that she believes patients in modern practices are not getting the service that they deserve.
It is Claudia’s belief that the physiotherapist and the patient require more time to ensure that a correct assessment is made and that the appropriate treatment is administered. Her size is absolutely no indication of her strength. Having two children of her own has enabled Claudia to understand more about pregnancy and the effects that childbirth can bring to women. This experience and understanding has helped Claudia to specialise in women’s health, in particular the importance of the pelvic floor.
Claudia loves interacting with her patients and helping them to achieve their goals so along with women’s health, Claudia also has an interest in manual therapy, pre/post natal care, continence, men’s health, acupuncture, general musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports therapy, pilates, chronic pain and hydrotherapy.
Putting work aside, family time is of the most importance to Claudia, along with being infected with the travel bug, eating healthy and hiking and some of her other interests.
What are her plans for the future? Claudia would like to eventually add Tai Chi (Chi Kung) classes to what we have on offer, and concentrate more of her energy on the treatment of incontinence and pelvic organ problems or pain.

Rhiannon Hughes

  • Master of Physiotherapy
  • Bachelor of Applied Science – Human Movement
  • Level 1 Pilates (Mat Work)
  • Certificate III Fitness (Group Instructor)

Rhiannon joined Select Health Group this year, after returning from Canberra, where she completed her Masters of Physiotherapy. Her interests include Rowing, Running and Cycling, and is currently a member of SASI (South Australia Sports Institute) for Rowing.
Being a keen sports person, Rhiannon has a good understanding of the human body, the impact of movements, and the effects Physiotherapy has on healing and rejuvenating, especially sports and injury related issues. We believe Rhiannon’s passion and energy goes a long way in making her patients better. Having several sporting injuries growing up, Rhiannon has spent much time at a Physiotherapist herself, so she understands the importance on receiving the right treatment for the right amount of time. Her childhood injuries, along with the influence of a medical family background, is where her understanding and now passion in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy started, and further interest began in sports related injuries, post operative rehabilitation, and Pilates.
Throughout her travels, Rhiannon has had the opportunity to look after sporting teams, including AFL, Rugby, Netball, Athletics and Dancing. We believe these experiences have given her a wealth of knowledge, skills and expertise to be a valuable part of the Select Health Group.

What are her plans for the future? Going forward with Select Health Group, Rhiannon hopes to continue her study by completing a Masters of Sports Physiotherapy, and further her development in Dry Needling, Pilates and Kinesiotape. Rhiannon has also begun facilitating our Pilates classes twice a week, which are filling up fast!
